A seminar titled “Bangladeshi Furniture in the U.S. Market: Strategic Entry via the High Point Market 2026” was held today as a part of the Seminar Series of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 at the conference room of the Bangladesh–China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BIG WAVE), Purbachal.
Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Mr. Mohammad Hasan Arif, attended the seminar as the chief guest and reaffirmed his commitment to pave the way for promoting exports from this promising sector. He also assured the continuation of EPB’s cooperation to boost furniture exports.
EPB Director General Ms. Baby Rani Karmakar delivered the welcome address, while Mr. Dewan Atif Rashid of Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association presented the keynote paper highlighting the U.S. import market scenario and the sector’s expectations and objectives regarding participation in the iconic trade fair, High Point Market 2026, scheduled to be held from April 24–26, 2026, in North Carolina, USA.
The discussants at the seminar were Mr. K.M. Akhtaruzzaman, President of the Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association, and Mr. A. Karim Mojumdar, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners Association.
The session was moderated by Mr. Abu Mukhles Alamgir Hossain, Director (Policy & Planning), EPB.
